Bobby’s upcoming schedule will be the Criterium International, Pay Basque, the Ardenne Classics, followed by the Tour of Romandie. Bobby wrote in an email “It is a shame, but it falls at a tough time for all the big races going on over here.”

The “Race to the Sun” finished today in Bobby’s adopted European home of Nice. Bobby won the race in 2005, but this year is was Alberto Contador (Discovery Channel) who took the overall win after a thrilling finish where he took the lead with a solo breakaway on the final climb.

Bobby working with “Athlete In You”

Bobby has signed on to help develop the cycling content within a new web site called Athlete In You. The site was just recently launched and Bobby has been writing a blog there during the Tour of California and Paris-Nice. You can easily find the feed for Bobby’s Blog in the right column of this site. Bobby will also be answering question in the cycling forum on the Athlete In You site. This is Bobby’s message to new visitors to the cycling section …

Dear Members,

Hello and welcome to the cycling section of Athlete In You. Our goal is to assist cyclists at all levels with information that will improve their individual skills, mental approach to the sport, and overall preparation for success. I’ll be drawing on things I learned while racing for teams such as CSC, Telekom, Credit Agricole, Cofidis, and Motorola and my greater than 19 years of bike racing. I’ll also be sharing ideas from present and former team mates that will provide additional viewpoints for added variety and depth of knowledge. In addition, we plan on implementing an “Ask Bobby Julich” section soon, which will allow members to ask me questions directly so that I can tailor content to areas of greatest interest. In the future we plan on blogging from the Tour De France and other important cycling events, and hope to provide you with a lot more than just tips and advice. I hope you find our cycling section informative, insightful, and entertaining. Once again, welcome!

Sincerely,

Bobby Julich

It looks like site is still actively being developed, but fans of Bobby can look forward to new functionality being added soon.

Paris-Nice Stage 3: Kolobnev wins for CSC

Today’s stage saw a great performance by CSC’s Alexander Kolobnev. He was in a 4 man break for much of the stage, and when in appeared that the break would be caught, Kolobnev attacked his breakaway companions and took advantage of a downhill run into the finish to hold off the peloton by 12 seconds. Bobby finished safely in the bunch.

Be sure to check out Bobby’s AtheleteInYou.com Blog.

On stage 2 Boby got cought behind a split in the peloton in the final kilometer and lost some valuable seconds. It may not make a difference because there are some hard stages still to come.

Paris-Nice Prologue: Bobby 11th

Bobby finished 11th in the prologue of Paris-Nice, while David Miller took the win and first yellow jersey. The weather looked great in Paris. The race will be shown on Versus in the U.S. at 5 p.m. ET. If you are not a subscriber to cycling.tv, I highly recommend it. For about the price of an annual magazine subscription you can see live coverage every day of Paris-Nice, and many other races throughout the season.

Tour of California Wrap Up

Bobby finished up the Tour of California in 4th place overall, while Team CSC took the team prize. Here is a video from the Tour of California from BikeZen.com.
